Challenges
St. Dorothea Kinderheim Kirinda
Our Initiative
St. Dorothea Children's Home is currently supporting 25 orphans and vulnerable children to help them stay in school and have a bright future.
The project also provides after-school tutoring and counseling sessions. After school, the children have access to healthy, balanced food to help them stay strong and focus on their studies.
Our Challenge
Every 1–4 months, our home takes in 5-6 vulnerable orphans, providing essential care including education, shelter, and nutrition. Due to increasing demand, our resources are stretched, threatening our ability to support these children. We invite partners to invest in a sustainable income-generating project to secure their future and foster long-term independence.
Empower Vulnerable Lives: A Call for Sustainable Partnership
Our organization is committed to providing a safe haven, education, and essential supplies—including nutritious food, mattresses, clothing, and sanitary needs—for orphaned children. However, as we continue to take in 5-6 new children every few months, our current resources are unable to keep up with the rising demand.
To ensure we do not turn away children in need and to break the cycle of dependency, we are transitioning toward a more sustainable model. We are seeking partners and donors to support the establishment of an income-generating project. This initiative will allow us to move beyond temporary aid, securing long-term financial stability to feed, educate, and care for these children.
Join us in transforming lives from surviving to thriving. Your investment is not just a donation; it is a commitment to a sustainable future for these children.
How You Can Help:
- Invest in our Sustainability Project: Funding for agricultural, vocational, or small business initiatives.
- Sponsor Immediate Needs: Direct support for school fees, supplies, and food.

The children have to pay school fees in order to have an education; however, due to financial hardship, we are not able to support them. The home has a small source of income (200 chickens, 4 pigs, and three local goats), but it is not enough to support the needy children.
Future Plans
The children’s home has decided to raise funds to set up a poultry, pig, and goat farm to create a sustainable source of income for the children at St. Dorothea Children’s Home. We kindly request you to support our project of poultry keeping, piggery, and goat rearing.
